Cruising some of my favorite sites the other day, I came across some Oreos disguised as apples over at Cookies and Cups. They were so cute that I shared her link on Facebook. My friend Katrina from Baking and Boys commented that she saw the cookies too, and she was envisioning pumpkins.

Pumpkins?
That was a great idea!

So I said, “Let’s make them!”
And Oreo Pumpkin Pops were born.

I used Wilton’s Orange Candy Melts and had a hard time with them. I ended up “frosting” my cookies instead of dipping them. I tried to melt the discs on the stove but they seized up on me. I should have used a double boiler. Lesson learned! I also used some candy sugar eyes I bought from Bake It Pretty. I used some pipe cleaners to make the curly vine, a pretzel piece for a stem and a wafer leaf tops off the pop.
How cute are these?

Thank you Katrina for suggesting pumpkins and making these with me. They are such a cute idea and I cant wait to play with some more.

I’m thinking about dressing them up for Halloween.
Now head on over and check out Katrina’s pops!

Those are so adorable!
Ah! I love them! Love their eyes and LOVE the green pipe cleaner on top.
I don’t know why I’ve had those candy melts do that before, too. I think mine was okay this time. I melted them in intervals in the microwave in a glass bowl. So fun!
Thanks, Megan! Fun, fun. Can’t wait to see what else to do with Oreo Pops!
LOVE your pops!
How cute!! Love them!! I used the orange melts over the weekend, and it was too thick to dip my oreo bonbons in. I had to thin it with some veggie oil. I used the double boiler…so maybe it is just the wilton brand??
How cute those are! Not to mention tasty, too!
Cute, clever, and creative! You certainly have the “3-Cs” covered! I love that you and Katrina made these ‘together’. Great idea. My grandson would LOVE these!

Where did you find the wafer leaf tops?
Oh, Megan, you’re always have such a fun, creative ways with cookies. Your fondant duck cookies of months ago still make me smile when I think of them, and these will do the same through Halloween, if not long past then. The expressions you’ve come up with for your Oreo pumpkins are just priceless.
I think they were these ones. Scroll to the very bottom.
