Today is the last day of the hot heat around here!

You can tell from that rather BOLD statement that my glass is half full!
Half full of milk that is, to go with these decedent bars. (He-he)

It’s going to be 107 degrees today!

Who wants to turn  the oven on?

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Not me! even if it was working right.

(Note to self:   Fix oven before Fall Fever sets in.)

I got this recipe from my mother in law years and years ago. We have  made it a 1000 times and it’s still our favorite. So easy to make that a child can do it.

Trust me, this I know!

It also makes a whole lot, but they will disappear very quickly.

This I know too!!!

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

I dare you to try them!

This weekend would be a  good time!

You WILL thank me!

This I also know!

Trust me!

Those look incredibly dangerous… and delicious. How are they not melting in 107 degree heat?

too funny. my husband begged me to make the same recipe this weekend and my recipe is almost exactly the same. If you ever want to make a really good impression somewhere-take these!

The oven is broke, Coach J, not the air conditioning. :) Thank God!

Broken oven or not; I think it’s always nice to have some treats to prepare that don’t require turning it on; love that these are a family tradition and can see why. What’s not to love?

I am making these TODAY! It’s hot where I live, too. These look like a perfect dessert that is rich and yummy tasting, but doesn’t heat up the kitchen. Can’t go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter. Thank you!

These look terrific and how perfect that no baking is required to make them!

14 Blond Duck August 27, 2010 at 11:53 am

You think it’d be overkill if I made these and melted PB chips on them?

15 norma August 27, 2010 at 1:45 pm

If by looking I would gain weight…I would be 400 lbs. because of you.

16 Kim August 28, 2010 at 5:45 am

Wow Megan!! These little devils sure do look addictive. Definitely bookmarking this for our next indulgence. PB and Chocolate are my favorite combo:)

Mmm…I dream of bars like these. Someplace I had something like this as a child, and trust me, it was unforgettable!

18 Megan August 28, 2010 at 12:08 pm

Hi Ducky! … or what about a swirl of half PB chips and half chocolate. That would be pretty too! :)

19 julie August 28, 2010 at 10:55 pm

Hey, I’d even turn on the oven if I had to for these, they look that good !

20 Peggy August 29, 2010 at 4:58 am

I can’t stop drooling over these! I bet they would be so delicious really really really cold! lol

21 marla {family fresh cooking} August 30, 2010 at 5:07 am

107 degrees..yuck. These bars however look superb! xo

22 Barbara @ moderncomfortfood August 30, 2010 at 8:25 am

These bars look perfect in every way: all my favorite dessert flavors and virtually no cooking. I only have one little niggle about your instructions: the part that reads “refrigerate till completely firm.” Who has the patience to wait that long for these tempting treats?

These are great. They couldn’t be easier and I’m taking them tailgating today. They’re definitely going on the permanent cookie rotation in our house. Thank you!
