Hi Mari, I did like it very much. It was a little dry in that typical American pound cake kind of way but it made a great strawberry shortcake!I’d make it again!

I like the idea of the lemon curd on it. Could you toast it like bread and have it with butter. Sometimes I do this with pound cake – under the grill (broiler) rather than in the toaster.

Your photos are just beautiful! Your cake looks so pretty with the powdered sugar on top and combined with lemon curd and berries it must have been so delicious.

You can’t go wrong serving it with lemon curd. It baked up beautifully.

I think you’re right–this would make a good strawberry shortcake. And I like the powdered sugar on top of yours. Served with berries this was pretty good. But I was missing chocolate in my dessert!
