hi,
i love your rainbow cake and would love to make it for my daughter’s 6th birthday. i’m a bit clueless when it comes to this fancy baking stuff. can you tell me what you used to color the batter? i’ve seen some recipes use jello powder, but the colors do not come out as dark as yours. did you use wilton food coloring gel? thanks for any info, and congrats on a beautiful cake!

Hello Megan,

I have been following your site for a while now and have made some awesome dishes! Thank you for that, what wonderful taste and awesome presentation! I need help, I made penguins for work during the holidays and now it is Cinco de Mayo and not sure if I can top those penguins… Any suggestions?

Hi there…nice to meet you. The recipe you printed ‘By Martha Stewart’ is not in fact hers. It’s actually mine ! I appeared on her show last year , segment was called ‘Irish Treats’ where I taught her how to make my mum and grandmothers recipe. I developed this recipe using Kerrygold Unsalted butter. It is in fact commercially made.
Kind Regards

Hi Megan!
I am new to your blog and I am loving it! I want to make your chewy granola bars, but I have recently learned more than I care to know about the corn products in our country and I am banning all of them unless organic. I was wondering if you had a suggestion about using something else in it’s place? More honey, making simple syrup?
Thank you so much!

Honey or a simple syrup would probably work fine but I have never tested it. If you do, let us know how they turn out.

On the sugar cookies you used a syrup, what was it. I usually just put the fondant on and then add a little bit of water. The syrup sounds great.
Thank You:)

Hi Megan. I’m only 17, but i love baking. Lately I’ve become more interested and have been experimenting on making things from scratch, but I have a couple questions. How do you perfectly level out a cake? I tried the knife approach, but failed miserably. Also, have you ever used fondant? I tried to make some but it came out too soft and i had to patch it onto the cake. Didn’t look to nice.

Thanks for your help in advance and to contact me just email me. Thank :)
