It’s graduation time!
I was asked to bring the cupcakes to a graduation BBQ and immediately said “OK, what kind?”
The “graduate” asked for vanilla cupcake with a vanilla frosting.
Nothing wrong with vanilla!
But as I was looking through a few cake recipes, something was mentioned about a chocolate filling. Jist about that exact moment, I was clicking on my cupcake board on Pinterst.
Which by the way, do you follow me on Pinterest? If not, I’d like to take this opportunity to personally invite you.
Anyway…back to the cupcakes.
Low and behold, I had pinned the 50 best cupcake recipes on the internet from Marye of the Restless Chipotle fame.
And guess what the very first recipe on the list was for???
If you guessed Chocolate Filled Vanilla Bean Cupcakes with Vanilla Bean Frosting from Evil Shenanigans, you would be correct. It’s like the angels directed me right to this particular recipe. Who am I to defy fate?
So I baked up the easy cupcake recipe and then filled them with the even easier chocolate marshmallow cream.
And then I put big beautiful swirls of frosting on top. You can’t even tell there is a chocolate surprise inside. I loved the expressions of the people when they found the center.
And since they were for a graduation BBQ, I had to decorate them appropriately. So I stole Bakerella’s idea and made candy cup graduation caps. Only I didn’t put mine on a stick, I put them on a cupcake!
How cute did these turn out?
And here’s a peek inside!
Congratulations to the Class of 2012!
