have heard of the cake affectionately known as Better than Sex , but I had never made it. So on the last day of school this year, I made one for a co-worker’s birthday.
This was so easy to put together and it’s the perfect cake for potlucks. Sweetened condensed milk, caramel sauce, and hot fudge, all poured over a chocolate cake that has been poked with holes. Frosted with Cool Whip, the whipped topping helps to cut the richness of this cake. And chocolate covered toffee pieced decorate the top.
What could be better???
It’s just sinful!
| Better Than Sex Cake! |
- 1 German chocolate or other chocolate cake, baked, 13x9x2-inch
- 3/4 cup fudge topping
- 3/4 cup caramel or butterscotch topping
- 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- chocolate covered toffee bits
- 1 tub of whipped topping
- Bake cake according to directions. Cool completely but do not remove the cake from the pan.
- After the cake has cooled, make holes in the entire top of the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon.
- Pour (one at a time) fudge, butterscotch, and condensed milk over the top of the cake and let each flavor soak in before adding the next.
- Frost the cake with the whipped topping.
- Drizzle more caramel sauce on top.
- Sprinkle toffee pieces on top.

You can’t lose with a cake with that name! Looks sinful!
What a great way to end the year!
We aheve something called 3 leches cake which is three milk cake…condensed, evaporated and coconut…love the name…
That does look sinfully good!! I have heard of this cake, but this is a different version. Your cake looks fantastic! I could dive right into that
A friend I worked with made a variation with yellow cake (since she was allergic to chocolate) and it was still pretty darned good. Chocolate has to be way better though
I’ll bet everyone was smiling after they ate that cake! ;D
The cake does look wonderfully delicious!
I think i want to learn how to bake this! lol!
i can understand now why is the title’s like that!
because it looks really delicious and thanks for sharing your recipe…sounds easy, hope i can do it. have a great week.
I have not made this cake before, but have heard nothing but wonderful things about it. This looks fantastic and I am thinking that I will have to make this very soon!
I’ve been dying to try this cake! Sounds really fantastic, and you’re right, perfect for a potluck!
I’ve just gone to heaven seeing this..:)
Tasty Appetite
Love this dessert! Haven’t had it for a long time–now’s the time!
My family makes a version with butterscotch ice cream topping instead of hot fudge. I think when I found the recipe it was called “Better than Anything Cake” but we call it Holey Cake.
I must admit though, this cake does look like its better than sex.
Ooooo, that looks heavenly. Chocolate, toffee, butterscotch, condensed milk… mm I can just taste it! Delicious!!

NOTHING is better than sex!
Anyone who thinks any kind of cake is better than sex just hasn’t done it properly.
This does look tasty, but let’s not go overboard.
I make a cake that is almost the same….with butterfingers. Bake the chocolate cake and poke the holes, add the caramel and condensed milk. I crush 5 butterfinger candy bars and mix with cool whip to frost. It is delicious. I am going to try your version!
My sentiments exactly Austin
Perhaps a more accurate name would be “If You’re Not Getting Laid, Try This Cake”
OH YUM! This looks stunning… and well, better than… you know. Just don’t tell my honey!
My stepmom made this for my birthday a few years back! It is the best cake I’ve ever had.
looks delicious. i am allergic to skor bars which have almonds in them. do u think chocolate chips could be used as a substitute?
Absolutely! I think I would try the mini chips. If you do try it, I would love to know what you think.
Not true, definetly not better than sex. Far from actually…
I’ve had it only a couple of times and trust me it lives up to its name if you’ve never had it try it and I promise you’ll be making love to it!!!
This cake has gotten more repeat requests than any other cake I have taken to work or potlucks. I use Heath bars (4) and I put the sweetened condensed milk on first so that it can soak into the cake, then the caramel and then the fudge topping. The fudge is a little hard to spread so I usually zap in in the microwave for a few seconds first. I crush the bars in a ziploc freezer bag with a hammer. Works great. Not the cheapest cake to make, but by far the best!
