White bread recipe

{Baking With Julia} White Loaves

by Megan on February 7, 2012

I joined a new baking group!

Well, I don’t know it you would call it brand new. It’s the sequel to the group Tuesdays with Dorie. They have already baked through Dorie Greenspans cookbook From My Home To Yous, and now we’re going to bake our way through another cookbook,  Baking With Julia.

This is one gorgeous book and all the recipes have me very excited. We will post one recipe every two weeks, always on a Tuesday. If you would like to join us and bake along, you can find all the rules on the website, Tuesdays with Dorie

We are starting off with a recipe for white bread, and I can say, mine were a success. This was an easy, sturdy bread that made a great sandwich and some awesome toast. I had some plans to turn the leftover bread into bread pudding and croutons, but there was no leftover bread.

white breadYou can find this recipe on Jules blog,  Someone’s in the Kitchen. But if you like cookbooks like I like cookbooks, I encourage you to get this one. You wont be dissappointed!

Stay tuned for our next recipe, Chocolate Truffle Tarts!

Great looking bread! I can see why you didn’t have any leftovers.

A nice way to start with a loaf of bread you don’t have leftovers from. I wish I could bake better.

Not much better than hot homemade bread and jam. I’ll look forward to all the delicious recipes to come.

Your bread looks great! We don’t usually have much leftover bread around here, either. =) Welcome to TWD!

I love homemade bread… it makes my eye lashes batter and the butter come out of the fridge!

Looks great! I had to purposely save mine for bread pudding so I actually had some bread to work with haha

Beautiful bread!

Looks so yummy and so soft! I like it better if it is oven fresh and the outer part is toasty while the inside is so soft..

Call me lame, or just slow, but I don’t think I knew you were going to be Baking With Julie and I. hehe Yay! Have you made the chocolate tarts yet? I will be tomorrow, but I’m going to just make 1/4 of the recipe.
