Bacon Candy Or Devil’s Delight?

by Megan on May 29, 2009

This is a recipe that I’m sure is from the devil himself.
Originaly called Bacon Candy,
I think they should call it Devil’s Delight.

Thick cut salty pork bacon, dredged in brown sugar with a dose of chili powder.

So it’s sweet, salty, smokey, spicy, sticky sticks of pure delight.

I know it must be from the devil because it is so evil yet comes off as so good.

What do you think?

Devil’s Delight or Bacon Candy

Either way, they were a BIG hit at my party!

Served with Super Simple Pumpkin Coffeecake per request!

Bacon Candy

1 lb Bacon
3/4 Cup brown sugar
1 TBS chili powder (Or to taste)

Add Chili powder to brown sugar and mix well. Dredge bacon slices in sugar mixture coating each side. Lay on backing rack over foil lined baking sheet. Bake at 400 for about 20 minutes till crisp.

Bacon Candy. I made a Bacon Brittle once and it went over surprisingly well, but who doesn’t love Bacon.

Either way it looks like something I need to try!

Well I’ve seen chocolate covered bacon, so why not something of the candy variety :) Salty and sweet totally works for me.

I just guess the question is, does this go on a regular pizza or a brownie pizza?

This looks amazing! How can you go wrong with bacon? Worth every calorie :)

I would like this so much more than chocolate covered bacon. It sounds too good!

Oh my goodness! Bacon candy?! How amazing. I’m so impressed. I feel like there are endless uses for this candy–aside from eating it by itself :)

I’ve seen Michael Symon make chocolate covered bacon for a challenge once. I’m sure bacon candy is just as good!

I think your Devil’s Delight ranks right up there with chocolate bacon. Both totally decadent.

Bacon is one of my favorite meats, and this looks sooo good! Do you think it would work in a sandwich?

OhMyHolyDeliciousness. Is this stuff legal??

I asked my son what he wanted for breakfast this morning and his response was, 'BACON!' I've been wanting to try this again, (I burnt it the first time, darn kids.) so I decided to give it another try.

OMG. I tried a piece while waiting for the rest to finish and had a fight with myself on the merits of saving some for the family. Wow.

Oh, and I served it for breakfast with oatmeal. That makes it healthy, right? Please don't report me :)

I don't care what you call it, but these will surely be a delight to me…
